Safety first

Before you call, look after yourself and other drivers.

  1. Pull over as far from traffic as you can

If you can, stop on the hard shoulder, the verge or in a lay-by or truck park.

  2. Make the truck visible

Switch on the hazard lights, put on your hi-vis vest and set up the warning triangle.

  3. On a motorway, wait behind the barrier

If it is safe, get out of the cab on the side away from traffic and wait behind the crash barrier.

  4. Note where you are

Road number, direction of travel and the nearest exit or kilometre marker.

What to tell us on the phone

  • Where you are

A location pin, or the road, direction and nearest exit.

  • Which truck

Make, model and year of the tractor unit.

  • What happened

Symptoms, warning lights on the dashboard and fault codes if you can see them.

  • A photo

A photo of the fault or of the dashboard message helps a lot.

How to send your location on WhatsApp

  1. Open the chat with us and tap the paperclip or “+”.
  2. Choose “Location”.

What is wrong with the truck?

Pick a symptom and we will show you what we do about it. Not on the list? Call and describe it.

Drivers' questions

Do you come out at night, at weekends and on public holidays?

Yes. We work day and night, 7 days a week, public holidays too. Prices on public holidays may differ.

What should you have ready before you call?

Place: road number, direction of travel and the nearest exit or kilometre marker. Truck: make, model and year. Fault: what happened, which warning lights are on and which fault codes you can see. A photo helps a lot.

How much does a roadside repair cost?

We agree the price before work starts. It can change if it turns out on site that there are more faults than the driver described.

The engine warning light is on. Can I keep driving?

It depends on the light and the symptoms. If the light is red, or the engine loses power, overheats or smokes, stop in a safe place and call. If the light is amber, take a photo of the message and call: from the symptoms and the fault code we will tell you whether you can drive on to a truck park.

Air pressure is dropping. Can I drive to the nearest truck park?

No. With an air leak the brakes are not reliable. Stop in a safe place, switch on the hazard lights, put out the warning triangle and call.

When the heater runs, I can smell exhaust fumes in the cab. What should I do?

Switch the parking heater off at once, open the windows and get out of the cab. Don't sleep in the cab with the heater on until it has been checked. Then call us.
