Calling us, cost and invoices
Do you come out at night, at weekends and on public holidays?
Yes. We work day and night, 7 days a week, public holidays too. Prices on public holidays may differ.
How much does a roadside repair cost?
We agree the price before work starts. It can change if it turns out on site that there are more faults than the driver described.
How fast can you get here?
We don't promise an arrival time in advance: it depends on how far from Jasień you are. We'll tell you on the phone before the mechanic sets off.
What should you have ready before you call?
Place: road number, direction of travel and the nearest exit or kilometre marker. Truck: make, model and year. Fault: what happened, which warning lights are on and which fault codes you can see. A photo helps a lot.
Do you issue VAT invoices?
Yes, we issue VAT invoices.
How can I pay?
In cash, by card on site or by bank transfer. We issue VAT invoices.
Do you sign framework agreements?
Yes, we sign framework agreements with hauliers. Payment terms are agreed individually.
Do you service trucks at the company's depot?
Yes. We do scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance on site, at your depot or in your company's yard.
Engine and fuel system
The engine warning light is on. Can I keep driving?
It depends on the light and the symptoms. If the light is red, or the engine loses power, overheats or smokes, stop in a safe place and call. If the light is amber, take a photo of the message and call: from the symptoms and the fault code we will tell you whether you can drive on to a truck park.
Do you replace injectors where the truck stands?
Yes, if the parts are available. If they need ordering, we agree a date. We test and recondition injectors on the test bench in our workshop in Jasień, not at the roadside.
Electrics and electronics
The batteries are flat. Is a jump start enough?
After the jump start we check the batteries and charging, so the problem doesn't come back at the next stop. If the batteries need replacing, we replace them on site.
Fuses keep blowing. What does that mean?
Usually a short circuit or a chafed wire. A new fuse won't help while the cause is still there. We test the wiring, look for chafing and corrosion on the connectors, then repair the wires.
Brakes and air system
Air pressure is dropping. Can I drive to the nearest truck park?
No. With an air leak the brakes are not reliable. Stop in a safe place, switch on the hazard lights, put out the warning triangle and call.
Do you replace brake pads and discs in a truck park?
Yes: pads and discs, and shoes and drums, together with a check of the calipers and wear sensors. Replacing them on site depends on parts being available for that axle and model.
The air system froze overnight. What should I do?
Don't thaw valves or air lines with an open flame. Call: we will thaw the system, drain the water from the air tanks and check the air dryer, so the problem doesn't come back.
Driveline, suspension and steering
Do you repair gearboxes on site?
Only small repairs and adjustments that don't need the gearbox removed. Replacing the clutch disc or overhauling the gearbox means taking the gearbox off: that repair can be finished in our workshop in Jasień.
Do you replace suspension air bags on site?
Yes. We replace suspension air bags, shock absorbers and their mountings, and after the replacement we check the levelling valves.
The fifth wheel lock won't close. Can I drive?
No. Don't move off with the trailer until the lock is closed and secured. Call: we will check and adjust the fifth wheel on site.
Exhaust and aftertreatment
Do you remove DPF, EGR or AdBlue?
No. We diagnose, clean and repair these systems, but we never remove or disable them.
The truck is counting down the kilometres to an AdBlue power limit. What should I do?
Don't wait until it reaches zero. Take a photo of the message showing the kilometres and call, or send it on WhatsApp. We diagnose the system on site and tell you whether it can be repaired straight away.
Do you clean the DPF on site?
On site we start a forced regeneration with a diagnostic tester, check the sensors and look for what is clogging the filter. A removed filter is cleaned on the cleaning machine in our workshop in Jasień.
Cab and extra equipment
Do you repair Webasto and Eberspächer parking heaters?
Yes. We diagnose and repair heaters of both makes: the control unit, power supply, fuel supply, dosing pump, glow plug and fan.
When the heater runs, I can smell exhaust fumes in the cab. What should I do?
Switch the parking heater off at once, open the windows and get out of the cab. Don't sleep in the cab with the heater on until it has been checked. Then call us.
Do you recharge truck air conditioning?
No. We don't recover or recharge refrigerant and we don't do leak checks on the circuit. On site we check the compressor engagement, the fan, the sensors and the wiring, and after the diagnosis we tell you what comes next.
Reefers and trailers
Do you repair Thermo King and Carrier units?
Yes, we work on Thermo King and Carrier units: we read the alarms, check the unit's engine, power supply, fans and sensors and repair their faults. We don't open the refrigeration circuit: no refrigerant recharging and no leak checks.
The reefer unit isn't cooling and there is cargo in the trailer. What should I do?
Call at once and send a photo of the panel with the alarm code and the temperature in the trailer. Don't open the trailer doors unless you have to.
Do you repair the trailers themselves?
Yes: trailer brakes and air system, axles and hubs, wiring and lights, the kingpin and tail lifts.
Hydraulics
Can you make a new hydraulic hose on site?
Yes. We match the hose and fittings, crimp them on site and fit the hose. Send a photo of both ends of the old hose and we will check before we set off that we have matching ones.
Do you repair the hydraulics of tippers and lorry loader cranes?
Yes: the power take-off, pump, control valve, cylinders and hoses. Reconditioning cylinders, the pump or the control valve needs a workshop repair.
